This 5 story building was renovated around 1976 or 1977, I saw the typical demolition scaffold and thought it was being demolished! I removed a large two piece terra-cotta panel from under the window of the 4th floor on the right where the air conditioner grill can be seen under the window.

To make it look even I suppose they removed the other panel from the left window for that air conditioner, and in retrospect my removing the piece actually gave the 2 apartments on that floor their full windows- unlike the rest who had to sacrifice the light and being able to open their windows on account of the air conditioners having to sit on the window sills.
